CA Environmental Justice Coalition “Days of Action”

The California Environmental Justice Coalition (CEJC) will gather in Sacramento Saturday, August 20 through Monday, August 22. Tri-Valley CAREs will be represented by its executive director, Marylia Kelley, and its youth outreach volunteer, Lisa Putkey, who has worked on peace and environmental justice issues in CA and NM as well as nationally in Washington, DC.

In Sacramento, community and statewide environmental justice leaders representing more than 50 organizations will participate to strengthen our collective goals and conduct advocacy with agency and elected officials. Together, we aim to win greater justice and government and corporate accountability.

The CEJC was launched in 2014 at a statewide gathering in Kettleman City with representatives from urban, rural and indigenous communities. CEJC is a broad, inclusive coalition uniting large and small groups across the state in resistance to environmental racism and injustice and committed to promoting change that creates environmental, economic, and social and cultural justice for all peoples. Tri-Valley CAREs is proud to be among CEJC’s co-founding organizations.
