Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty Opens Today for Signatures

ON DAY ONE, 50 states parties, including the Vatican, line up at the United Nations in New York to sign the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons that was negotiated this past July. The Treaty will enter into force (become fully operational) as soon as 50 of its signatories ratify it via their own procedures. The nuclear weapons ban treaty is on the move - and quickly.
